Mother Nature has been playing a trick on us here in the Northeast.   After an almost balmy start to April, we are still contending with the occasional coating of snow and ice on the front lawn that is trying its hardest to turn green!  Shawn and I have already been on a couple of hikes despite the setbacks in the weather and I’m looking forward to getting the kayaks out soon, too!

Tomorrow (Sunday, April 14th) – tune in online to www.wuphradio.com at 2 p.m. EST to listen to yours truly with host Elihu as we chat about music, life, and who knows what else!

This year is the 5th annual Earth Day Celebration that I take part in each year at the First Universalist Church of Norway, ME.  The date is Sunday, April 21.  The celebration starts with a local foods supper at 5:00 p.m. and then the concert will follow at 6:30 p.m.  There will be performances by yours truly, Leah Wolfsong, The Norway UU Choir, and more!  Admission is $10.  Call 207-743-2828 for more info.

I’m excited to be traveling down to Mocha Maya’s in Shelburne Falls, MA later this month for a split bill with singer/songwriter Carrie Ferguson!  I met Carrie at NERFA last fall and she’s a very sweet soul and a clever weaver of story into song.  She’s working on a new album and I’m psyched to hear her new material!  FMI: www.carriefergusonmusic.com

My spring cleaning sale is still on!  Thanks to those of you who have already taken advantage of the $5 sale.  Remember – this sale ends May 1st so order up!  http://www.heatherpierson.com/Heather_Pierson/SpringSale.html

I leave you with my latest YouTube offering – a video of Diana’s Baths here in New Hampshire.  The falls are especially lovely this time of year and I felt moved to share that beauty with others.  Enjoy!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXcwwlcNS9I

As always, thank you one and all for your love, friendship and support.

Love,
Heather

First, I’d like to thank everyone for your overwhelmingly positive feedback and comments about my video press kit!  (Didn’t see it yet?  You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2kxn0WHRug)  This is version 1.0 and there will be a version 2.0 once the new CD is finished.   If anyone you know is interested in hosting me in a house concert setting, be sure to share this video with them – and thanks!  (Or perhaps you are interested yourself!  If so, please get in touch!)

Andy's Old Port Pub, Cranmore, Florida, Fort Myers, Good Times, Heather Pierson, Listening Room Festival, Maine, music, New Hampshire, North Conway, Portland, White Mountain Hotel

Hope this finds you well and happy, in good health and circumstance, with a joyful heart!  A big thank you to everyone who came to the show at Pitman’s Freight Room on Valentine’s Night.  I think every day should be Valentine’s Day.  Why wait until February 14 to tell someone you love them?   Do it right now.  (Yes, right now!)

Speaking of love, I sure am digging my busy schedule!  Here’s a look at the rest of February:

Tuesday, February 19th:  Shawn and I will be playing the apres ski at Cranmore Mountain in North Conway, NH from 3 to 6 p.m.   It’s school vacation week, so it’s bound to be busy!

Thursday, February 21st:  We’ll be at Andy’s Old Port Pub in Portland, ME starting at 6:30 p.m.  It’s been a while since we’ve been to this cozy little seaside spot and we’re looking forward to it!

Friday, February 22nd:  After a day in the studio working on tracks for my upcoming CD, I’ll be playing a solo evening at Good Times Restaurant in North Conway, 6 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, February 23rd:  Another solo night, this time at White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, 6 to 10 p.m.

Congrats to “Johnny Gags”, winner of the “Flight of Fancy” video contest!  He takes home the $500 gift card to his choice between Amazon, Apple, Best Buy.  Nice job, Johnny!

Next week, I’ll be back on the road – this time, to Fort Myers, Florida – for the Listening Room Festival!  Shawn and I will be down there for several days of house concerts, showcases, radio and TV appearances (and of course to soak up some warmth and sun)!  If you’re in South Florida we would really love to see you!  More details and info at www.listeningroomfestival.com.

Frequent updates, photos and musings on Facebook (HeatherPiersonMusic) or Twitter (@HeatherPierson)!

Thanks as always for your support – and lots of love to each and every one of you!

Love,
Heather

The view out of the window next to my desk is quite different than it was just a few days ago.  Winter Storm Nemo left a huge blanket of snow throughout the Northeast and I’m reminded that not everyone was as lucky as we were here (our power thankfully didn’t even flicker).   Here’s to all those who are still dealing with the aftermath and hope they are all warm and safe.

This Thursday is Valentine’s Day and it’s also the last day to enter the “Flight of Fancy” video contest at FanDistro!   A $500 gift card to winner’s choice of Amazon, Apple or Best Buy awaits the creator of the video with the most votes!  Follow this link to create your video and vote for others: http://fandistro.com/contests/heatherpierson/  Time is ticking on this one!

While the final votes are coming in, I’ll be performing a very special Valentine’s Night trio show at Pitman’s Freight Room in Laconia, NH!  The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door.  If you bring your sweetheart to dinner at The Local Eatery of Laconia, your show tickets are FREE!   Call 603-527-8007 for info and reservations.

Friday, February 15th: I’ll be rockin’ out with The Dean Machine at The Red Parka Pub in Glen, NH starting at 9 p.m.!

Saturday, February 16th: It’s another solo night at White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, NH, 6 to 10 p.m.

Kathy Parsons of MainlyPiano.com has just posted a very nice review of “The Open Road”!  You can read that here:  http://www.mainlypiano.com/2013_Reviews/Pierson-The_Open_Road.html

More news, updates and musings are always available on my Facebook page (HeatherPiersonMusic) or my Twitter feed (@HeatherPierson).  Thanks to each and every one of you for your continued love, support and enthusiasm!

Auburn, Charlie Brown Christmas, Circle Voice, Cranmore, First Universalist Church, Heather Pierson, Maine, McGrath's Tavern, Mount Washington Hotel, music, New Hampshire, North Conway, White Mountain Hotel

Wow, what an awesome tour we had!  The Charlie Brown Christmas Tour was so fulfilling, start to finish.  Five well received and well attended shows (standing room only in Cambridge!) and so many new friends and fans.  The smiling faces and tapping toes were contagious everywhere we went!  This music, this legacy of Vince Guaraldi’s, lives on and we were so honored to share this with audiences all over New England.  We’re already talking about expanding the tour for next year into even more places.  Wooo!

Here’s a YouTube playlist that contains some footage from this year’s tour (and last year’s as well):

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0QrCBGm76_VNEU1wV6ct_7Z2dvlh83Jq

No time to rest on my laurels!  There’s more happening in my musical world as the year comes to a close.  Here’s a look:

Thursday, December 20th: The Heather Pierson Quartet will be rockin’ McGrath’s Tavern in North Conway, NH starting at 9 p.m. til the wee hours.

Friday, December 21st:  I’ll be at “home base” at White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, 6 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, December 22nd:  I’m really excited to be part of the 16th Annual Solstice Celebration at the First Universalist Church of Auburn, ME!  I’ll be sharing the stage with Circle Voice Singers (I haven’t sung with them in years!), Leah Wolfsong and a host of other stellar talents!  $10 at the door; $8 students/seniors; under 12 free.  6 p.m. doors, 7 p.m. start.  All proceeds to benefit the Good Shepherd Food Bank.  Don’t miss this very special evening of music for a wonderful cause!

I’m also busy during Christmas week, which will include several appearances at the lovely Mount Washington Hotel, an apres ski at Cranmore, plus more!  Plans are also shaping up for a winter tour out west again!  So far, Shawn and I have confirmed dates in Chicago, Denver, Flagstaff, Phoenix, Fort Lauderdale, and more in the works!  Details available at www.heatherpierson.com.

As the holidays approach and I finally have a little time to reflect, I realize once again how fortunate I am to be able to make a living creating music with people that I love and to share that music and that love with all of you!  This is living!  From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you for helping me make this dream come true.

Much love,
Heather

It’s been a very rewarding time here lately – last Thursday’s CD release show for “The Open Road” at Pitman’s Freight Room was a great success.  Many thanks to the sweet folks who came out to listen so intently!

I was also very pleased at the turnout for the Harvest Concert on Sunday afternoon.  There were musical offerings from myself, the Norway UU Choir, Davy Sturtevant, Nate Towne and the newly formed hospice choir “Sing Now”.  It was a benefit for the Oxford Hills Food Pantry and, thanks to the kindness of everyone in attendance, we collected lots of food and cash donations for that worthy organization to help them through the tough holiday season.    A great afternoon for a great cause!

Shawn and I have been working hard in the studio on my new acoustic tracks for CD #7 (!!!) which I’m hoping to release in the summer of 2013.  Sneak previews are now available (along with a few other goodies) on the Listen/Buy section of my website: www.heatherpierson.com.

Tickets are now on sale for the Charlie Brown Christmas shows!  Visit my website for dates, times, locations and to purchase tickets.

Here’s what’s happening the rest of this month:

Tuesday, November 20th:  I had the pleasure of meeting Louisa Wise at NERFA last weekend.  Here for 6 months from her home in Australia, she is touring the States with her music, which is absolutely beautiful and full of grace and charm!  She plays guitar, dulcimer (that she built herself), fiddle and more!   She’ll be performing at Pitman’s Freight Room in Laconia, NH at 8 p.m.  If you’re in the area, please consider attending this concert.  You’re in for a treat!

Thursday, November 22nd:  Happy Thanksgiving!  As has become my yearly tradition, I’ll be playing solo at The White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, NH starting at 11:30 a.m.

Friday & Saturday, November 23rd & 24th:  I’ll be rocking The Red Parka Pub in Glen, NH with The Dean Machine!   This room — and this band — are so much freaking fun!!  9 p.m. til the wee hours.

Wednesday, November 28th:  The Heather Pierson Quartet will be at Delaney’s in North Conway from 9 p.m. til midnight.   Blues/funk/jazz/whatnot.  Maybe a Charlie Brown preview?  MAYBE.  🙂

Friday, November 30th:  Shawn and I will be performing at The Shannon Door Pub in Jackson, NH starting at 8 p.m.  A warm and cozy room and great pizzas, too!

That’s it for now!  Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook (HeatherPiersonMusic) or on Twitter (@HeatherPierson) to stay up to date on all the latest developments.   Thank you so much for your continued love and support, and have a joyful and restful Thanksgiving!

Love,
Heather

What an incredible weekend at NERFA!  Four days of immersion in a world brimming with hundreds of incredible musicians, songwriters, radio DJs, presenters and fans in a resort hotel on the edge of the Catskills.  I made so many new friends, played and listened to so much music, sang so many songs, ate *so* much wonderful food and got by on a bare minimum of sleep.  I still haven’t taken my green wristband off for fear that the warm and fuzzy feeling that I am still experiencing will disappear.  A highlight (one of many): getting to play an hour-long impromptu set in the lobby of the hotel with Canadian folk legend Ken Whitely while a huge crowd gathered, sang along and cheered.   Ken is a Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling recording artist, songwriter, performer, player, singer, producer – and a true gentleman to boot.  (If you haven’t heard of him, look him up.  You’ll be glad you did.)  I am so thankful for the opportunity to go and share my love of music with so many awesome people who have that same love!  It really felt like a family reunion.  I can’t wait til next year!

Now that I’m starting to come down out of the clouds a bit, I am getting ready for some things coming up that I’m excited about!   Here’s what’s happening:

Thursday, November 15th:  Another CD release concert for “The Open Road” – this time, at Pitman’s Freight Room, located at 94 New Salem Street in Laconia, NH.  Doors open at 7:15 p.m. and the concert begins at 8 p.m.  Admission is $10 at the door and everyone in attendance will receive a *FREE* copy of the new CD!  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Saturday, November 17th:  I’ll be back at “home base” at the White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, NH at the seat of the beautiful grand piano in the Ledges Dining Room from 6 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, November 18th:  The First Universalist Church of Norway, ME (located at 479 Main St.) will be presenting its annual Harvest Concert in the church sanctuary at 2 p.m.  It will include performances from me, Davy Sturtevant, Nate Towne and the Norway UU Choir.  Admission is just $5 at the door and proceeds will benefit the Oxford Hills Food Pantry.  There will be a collection of non-perishable items for the Pantry as well.  Please come join us for an afternoon of songs, poetry and celebration!

Meanwhile, I’m woodshedding for another session with my acoustic guitar in the studio later this week and following up with all the folks I connected with at NERFA.   Oh! – and tickets are on sale for the Charlie Brown Christmas concerts!  Visit my website (www.heatherpierson.com) to purchase.

Much love to all of you and many thanks for your continued support and enthusiasm!

Love,
Heather

My heart is full and I can’t stop smiling!  The CD release concerts this weekend for “The Open Road” were a great success! Thank you to each and every one of you for coming and supporting me and for listening so intently.  I feel like the luckiest person in the world!   🙂

If you haven’t gotten your copy of “The Open Road” yet, you can order it from iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Bandcamp, or by shopping at www.heatherpierson.com.  If you do have your copy and have been enjoying it, why not let everyone know?   Write and post a review on any of those online retailers’ sites listed above.   It would be awesome!

Here are a few performances coming up that I’d like to tell you about:

Wednesday, October 31st:  Halloween Night!  I’ll be playing with The Dean Machine (Jeremy Dean, guitar/vocals; Kenny Oakes, bass/vocals; Matt Bowman, drums; yours truly, keys/vocals) at Rosa Flamingo’s in Bethlehem, NH from 9 p.m. til midnight.    Be prepared for costumed craziness!

Thursday, November 1st:  The Heather Pierson Quartet (with Joe Aliperti on sax, Shawn Nadeau on bass and Matt Bowman on drums) will hit McGrath’s Tavern in North Conway, NH starting at 9 p.m.   Jazz/funk/blues?  We got that.

Friday, November 2nd:  I’ll be performing as a duo with Shawn on bass at Sunapee Community Coffeehouse in Sunapee, NH.   This will be my first time at this venue and I’m really looking forward to presenting an evening of my originals!  7 p.m.  FMI: www.sunapeecoffeehouse.org

Saturday, November 3rd:  I’ll be back at “home base” at the seat of the grand piano in the Ledges Dining Room of The White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, NH, 6-10 p.m.

Monday, November 5th:  HPQ will be performing for a very special fundraiser at Berlin (NH) High School to help send the jazz band kids on a spring trip to Florida!   More details to come.

Thursday, November 8 – Sunday, November 11:  I’ll be headed to NERFA (North East Regional Folk Alliance) conference for the first time!   I’m really psyched to meet new friends, reconnect with others, and share my songs and my love of music!   FMI: www.nerfa.org

That’s it for now!  Thanks so much to all of you for your continued love and support, without which I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.   And as I type this, Hurricane Sandy is starting to tap on the windows.  Let’s hope everyone in her path will remain safe.

Love,

Bethlehem, Delaney's, Heather Pierson, Heather Pierson Quartet, music, Nashua, New Hampshire, North Conway, Root, Root NH, Studio 99, The Open Road, White Mountain Hotel

Hello everyone!

Things are really starting to ramp up around here in preparation for The Open Road CD release concerts in just a couple of weeks! (If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet you can do so at www.HeatherPierson.com).  The CD is now available from iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Bandcamp and of course from my website.  So far the response to The Open Road has been overwhelmingly positive and I am so grateful for all of you and for your emails, messages and kind words about my music!

I have a few performances coming up this week that I would like to tell you about:

Wednesday, October 17

The Heather Pierson Quartet (that’s with Joe Aliperti on sax, Matty Bowman on drums, and Shawn Nadeau on bass) will be serving up some jazz/blues/funk/whatnot at Delaney’s Hole In The Wall in North Conway, NH starting at 9 PM. There’s a good chance that we will be donning some fancy threads for this one – plus you’ll get to hear the new ax!  Don’t miss this!

Thursday, October 18

Shawn and I will be performing as a duo at a restaurant in Bethlehem, NH called Root. This will be our first time there and we’re really looking forward to it! We perform from 7 to 9 PM.  The restaurant is located at 2085 Main Street in Bethlehem.  FMI or to make reservations visit www.rootnh.com.

Friday, October 19

I’ll be back at “home base” at the White Mountain Hotel in North Conway NH, 6 to 10 PM.

Saturday, October 20

I’ll be the featured performer at Studio 99!  I’m really excited to be returning to this great, intimate venue located on Factory Street in downtown Nashua, NH.  7:30 PM start. For more information visit www.studio99nashua.com.

And that’s not all!  In addition to all the promotion of The Open Road and my busy performance schedule, I’m also really psyched to be heading into the studio later this month to start recording tracks for the next CD!  It will include my 2012 New England Songwriting Contest winner, “A Hard Man To Please”, plus more of my newer, grittier, Americana/roots songs that I’m excited to share with you!

As I always say, none of my success would be possible without your continued love, enthusiasm and support, and I cannot thank you enough for it.   Hope to see you or hear from you soon.

Love,
Heather

Hello friends!

It feels like it’s been a while since I last wrote to you.  How have you been?  Doing well, I hope.  Here in the North, it’s truly hard to believe that fall has arrived.  The foliage is  already on spectacular display here.  As for me, I’ve been taking advantage of the recent ease in my schedule to spend time with friends, work on more writing, check out open mics in other towns in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and, of course, I’ve been preparing for the release of The Open Road.   (Hmm, not much of an ease in the schedule now that I read that paragraph over!  I suppose I’ve always been well versed in keeping myself happily busy. 🙂 )

Here’s the upcoming schedule, including a couple of days at the larger-than-life and super fun Fryeburg Fair!

Tuesday, September 25th

Tonight!  I’ll be back in the dining room of the Mount Washington Hotel in lovely Bretton Woods, NH from 6 to 10 p.m.  It’s been a while!

Friday, September 28th

A new venue in the Valley!  I’ll be rockin’ out with my adopted big brother Jeremy Dean and his band The Dean Machine at Wolverine Grill on “The Strip” in North Conway, NH from 7 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, September 29th

Another night with TDM!  This time, we’ll be bringing our blues and rock show back to Tower Hill Tavern in Laconia, NH.  We hit at 7 p.m.

Sunday, September 30th

Shawn and I will be at The Red Parka Pub in downtown Glen, NH from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, October 2nd

The Open Road will be here!  Oh, and just a quick reminder – there are tickets available for the CD release shows scheduled for next month and you can purchase them right on my homepage at www.heatherpierson.com.

Wednesday, October 3rd

Shawn and I will perform at the Fryeburg Fair on the Gazebo Stage for three sets at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

Thursday, October 4th

We will bring the duo show back to Andy’s Old Port Pub in Portland, ME, for 6:30-ish p.m. start.

Friday, October 5th

I’ll be back at “home base” at The White Mountain Hotel in North Conway, NH from 6 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, October 6th

A double!  Shawn and I return to the Fryeburg Fair’s Gazebo for three more sets, starting at 9 a.m. (let’s hope it’s warm and sunny like it was last year!) and then I’ll be back at my seat at the piano of the White Mountain Hotel again at 6 p.m.

That’s all for now!  I do hope to see you or hear from you soon.  Thanks, as ever, for your love and support.  I know I always say that but I really and truly mean it from the bottom of my heart.   Take good care!

Love,
Heather
